My Story
Rebecca Bowers is a KY Licensed SLP who holds the certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Rebecca received her Master of Science in Communication Science & Disorders from the University of Kentucky in 2008.
During her final year in her Masters program at the University of Kentucky, Rebecca had the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation abroad in the United Kingdom, further learning about evaluation and treatment practices of dysphagia in the acute care setting as well as dysphagia and receptive and expressive language interventions for adults receiving outpatient services in the United Kingdom.
Rebecca has practiced speech pathology for 17 years, initially starting in the acute care, inpatient and outpatient settings with adults. She has 15 years of practice working with pediatrics from infancy to 3 years of age and elementary through high school age students addressing their receptive, expressive and/or social language needs and goals. She values building confidence, supporting growth, as well as helping others find their 'voice' through verbal expression and/or AAC. She has a passion for empowering the ones she works directly with and educating and supporting their families. This has become a foundational part of her practice. She has a love for education and collaboration with other professionals following a multidisciplinary approach to consider all aspects that may play a role in optimally supporting the whole child.
When she does not have her "SLP hat on", Rebecca enjoys spending time and being present with her young son in his sporting endeavors and hobbies, spending time with her husband Randy, lifting weights, learning about nutrition with a passion for gut health and being outside.
